Set up your room with confidence

Enter dimensions manually or let LiDAR scan them for you. LevelCheck calculates optimal speaker positions, identifies room modes, and can overlay AR markers through your camera so you place speakers exactly where they should go.

  • Speaker placement calculator with room-mode analysis
  • Stereo and 2.1 configurations with subwoofer ranking
  • LiDAR room scan — auto-detect floor dimensions on supported devices
  • AR camera overlay with 3D placement markers
  • Easy-to-follow 2D guide on non-LiDAR devices

Go deeper when you need to.

Pro features for users who want technical depth beyond basic loudness and balance.

Signal-assisted room checks

Pink noise and sine sweep stimulus checks for deeper room-response analysis. Detect resonances, nulls, and frequency problems that passive measurement can miss.

Pro

Noise dose monitoring

Monitor cumulative noise exposure against NIOSH REL (85 dBA) and OSHA PEL (90 dBA) simultaneously. Always available on every tier — hearing safety is never paywalled.

No audio stored, ever.

LevelCheck never records, stores, or transmits audio. All measurements and history stay on your device. No account required.

How LevelCheck measures sound.

Honest answers to the most common accuracy question.

LevelCheck uses your iPhone’s built-in microphone and applies device-specific calibration offsets derived from comparison with calibrated reference meters. Supported devices are pre-calibrated at launch; Pro users can add a custom microphone profile and a personal trim offset for higher precision.

Under consistent conditions, readings are within ±2–3 dB of a calibrated reference meter. LevelCheck is not an IEC 61672 Class 1 or Class 2 certified instrument, and is designed for practical setup guidance rather than formal compliance measurement.
LevelCheck stacks three offset layers to get measurements as close as practical to real-world reference levels:

1. Device calibration (all tiers) — Auto-detected at launch based on your iPhone model. ~30 models are profiled from empirical comparison data.
2. External mic profile (Pro) — A per-device offset profile for your external microphone, with optional per-band offsets for the most accurate results.
3. Personal trim (Pro) — A fine-tune offset you can dial in by comparing to a known reference, stored persistently.

Each layer reduces systematic error. The active calibration source and effective offset are shown on the meter screen at all times.
LevelCheck is suitable for practical room setup decisions: is a level too high, too low, or uneven? The NIOSH/OSHA dose monitor is a real-time awareness tool.

For formal regulatory compliance, occupational health records, or legal noise surveys, use a certified Type 1 or Type 2 sound level meter. LevelCheck does not produce legally defensible measurements.
